20 years ago, Gediminas Gelgotas founded the NICO ensemble (New Ideas Chamber Orchestra) — a bold artistic vision that has since resonated across Europe, Asia, and the USA (www.nicomusic.eu).
On June 25 this remarkable journey will be celebrated in its hometown. In a once-in-a-lifetime evening, Gelgotas will unite an extraordinary constellation of artists: NICO, the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra, and the Vilnius Municipal Choir Jauna Muzika, alongside visionary star guest pianist Francesco Tristano. At the heart of the night — the performance of Gelgotas’ newest large-scale work, The Sarabande of Vilnius: a deeply symbolic musical offering to the city where it all began.
More than 130 musicians will share one stage. Two orchestras. A choir. An ensemble. A soloist. One pulse. A night of scale, sound, and bold creativity not to be missed.
