Gediminas Gelgotas with his NICO Ensemble were chosen to perform at a historic event of international significance – when the three Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia – disconnected from the Russian electricity system and successfully synchronized their electricity systems with the synchronous space of continental Europe. Among the listeners were the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the Lithuanian Republic Gitanas Nausėda, the President of Latvia Edgaras Rinkevičius, the President of Poland Andrzej Duda. For this special occasion, piece Lock Me In Your Light, Saint Luke was chosen, composed by Gediminas Gelgotas himself. Live performance was accompanied by a spectacular light show and electronic sound effects. The event took place in Vilnius, Lithuania on February 9, 2025.
